Federal requirements state that those storing hazardous waste must be able to contain either the volume of the largest container or 10% of the volume of the containers, whichever one is higher. After calculating which requirement fits your jobsite, you must find the sump capacity. To calculate sump capacity, use the formula (Length (L) x Width (W) x Height (H) x 7.48 = Sump Capacity (Gallons)), and then calculate the size of system you need based on your specific dimensions.
