The best options for your project can be determined by the type of waste material you are dealing with, so be sure to read the roll-off box product descriptions carefully and check out the tips below to choose the right box for your next project.
If you are storing wet or powdery substances or liquids, we recommend that you use a liner or two to help with cleanup and avoid a cleaning fee when you return the box. If you are storing drier materials, you likely do not need to use a liner. Roll-off box liners are available in mesh or cloth and come in a variety of sizes and options. Your equipment vendor can help you choose the best liner for your project.
Whether to choose a dewatering cloth or screen depends on the size of the particles you are storing; if they are finer particles, you should use a dewatering cloth, and if they are larger particles, you should use a dewatering screen to avoid blocking the water from going through. Ask a United Rentals representative for help if you are unsure which option will work best for your project, and they will take a sample cloth and screen to your site and run a test to see which works better.
Depending on how often and how much you are dewatering, you may be able to save money by using a roll tarp box instead of a dewatering box. If you are dewatering a small amount of waste that only needs to be dumped once, you can add a liner (see above) to a roll-off box and open the door for drainage instead of purchasing a dewatering box. If you are dewatering larger amounts and/or dewatering them more than once, you need to use a dewatering box.
