Where Are Excavators Made?

Excavators are one of the most common pieces of construction and earthmoving equipment. And for good reason. Renowned for their power and versatility, excavators are ideal for demolition projects, land clearing, digging trenches and more. Available in a range of sizes with a variety of attachments to suit different jobs, excavators are an essential piece of heavy equipment.

Due to the popularity and ongoing demand for excavators, there’s a huge range of high-quality brands to choose from. But where do the best excavators come from? Here’s a rundown of 5 of the top excavator brands and where they’re manufactured.

Kobelco

Kobelco has been producing high-quality excavators in Japan since the 1930s. Since then, the company has established manufacturing facilities in China and Thailand. Committed to quality and innovation, Kobelco continues to be an industry leader.

Kobelco excavators are known for being highly fuel efficient, reliable and quiet to operate. Their excavator range includes mini excavators, medium excavators, large excavators and specialty excavators that have been developed for specific jobs and projects.

While Kobelco doesn’t manufacture its own range of excavator attachments, most third-party attachments are compatible with their machines.

Kubota

Kubota is one of Australia’s leading suppliers of agriculture, construction and power equipment. Established in 1890, it wasn’t until 1953 that Kubota first entered the equipment market with their construction range that included power shovels and marine deck machinery. They extended their range to include excavators shortly after.

All of Kubota’s excavators are still produced at their manufacturing facilities in Japan. Kubota machines are known for their durability, reliability and high performance. Their range of excavators starts from 0.8T to 8.2T, and includes both conventional swing and zero turn models. In particular, their mini excavators have been manufactured in line with European safety standards, which are considered the most rigorous principles in the world.

And if that wasn’t enough, Kubota is committed to protecting the environment by investing in advanced technologies to create equipment that offers powerful performance while also reducing emissions.

Sumitomo

Sumitomo has been producing Japanese-designed and engineered excavators for the construction industry since the early 1960s. Representing the highest quality, performance, reliability and fuel efficiency, Sumitomo excavators have been designed to provide a complete solution for the demands of construction projects.

Sumitomo is known for prioritising durability, and efficient engine system, safety and comfort. With increased cooling capability, enhanced operator comfort and a new generation engine and hydraulic system that helps to save fuel and money, Sumitomo is a popular choice when it comes to quality excavators. They also pride themselves in delivering exceptional after-sales service to ensure an unparalleled customer experience.
